CARSTEN LUZ //
born in 1975 in Essen and raised in northern Germany, was the youngest founding member of the “LandesJugend JazzOrchester Niedersachsen” at age 14. He studied with Professors Michel Becquet, Johann Voithofer and Ulrich Flad at the University of Music Cologne. Carsten began his orchestral career with temporary positions in orchestras in Gelsenkirchen and Hagen, after which he received a permanent contract as solo trombonist in 2001 in Dortmund, followed by a permanent contract as solo trombonist in the Gürzenich-Orchestra Cologne in 2002. He has been trombone teacher at the University of Music Aachen since 2009.
